Plot Summary
Police Inspector Arjun Singh (Sunil Shetty) is a brave and honest police officer stationed in Khandala. He is a very strict police officer and uses harsh ways against all the criminals. He is assigned to investigate the murder of a minister's son, who was killed by a gang of smugglers led by Azghar (Mukesh Rishi). Arjun arrests Azghar and his men, but they are released by the court due to lack of evidence. Arjun is frustrated by the justice system and decides to take matters into his own hands. He kills Azghar and his men in an encounter and surrenders himself to the police. He is sentenced to life imprisonment and sent to a jail run by Lankeshwar (Danny Denzongpa), a corrupt jailer who uses some of his inmates as hitmen for a fee. He allows them to leave the jail, carry out their assignments and return with a perfect alibi. ACP Amar Agnihotri (Mohan Joshi), Arjun's friend and superior, proposes to the minister to send an undercover cop to Lankeshwar's jail to expose his racket. Arjun volunteers for the mission and fakes his death in an accident. He is then transferred to Lankeshwar's jail as a convict.

In the jail, Arjun meets Kajol (Raveena Tandon), a journalist who is also imprisoned for exposing Lankeshwar's crimes. She helps Arjun in his mission and falls in love with him. Arjun also befriends Abdul (Om Puri), an honest inmate who was framed by Lankeshwar for killing his own brother. Arjun learns that Lankeshwar is planning to assassinate the minister on the day of his daughter's wedding. He also discovers that ACP Amar has been killed by Lankeshwar's men and that he has become a convict for real. Arjun decides to escape from the jail and stop Lankeshwar's plot. He manages to break out with the help of Kajol and Abdul, but not before killing Lankeshwar's henchmen Mantri (Tinnu Anand) and Gulshan (Brijesh Tripathi). He reaches the wedding venue and confronts Lankeshwar, who has taken the minister hostage. After a fierce fight, Arjun kills Lankeshwar and saves the minister. He is then cleared of all charges and reinstated as a police officer. He marries Kajol and lives happily ever after.
